Early next month, Microsoft is expected to hold an event where it will presumably announce new Surface devices. Previously it was reported that the company could trade Intel processors for AMD processors for most of its new devices and now a German publication would have leaked the key specs of Surface Laptop 3.

According to the Winfuture source, the leaked Surface Laptop 3 specifications seem to coincide with the previous information we had about this new Microsoft alliance with AMD. First, the entry-level model is expected to have a quad-core AMD Ryzen processor, namely the Ryzen 5 3550U and Ryzen 7 3750U, which the company's OEM partners have started using on their laptops. The Surface Laptop 3 is expected to cost $ 999 and $ 1, 099 for the Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 variants, respectively, and each is expected to have around 8GB of RAM.

Below are two other models with AMD Ryzen 6-core CPUs and 12GB of RAM. The base model is apparently priced at $ 1, 399, while there is another variant that will cost $ 1, 599. After that, we will have models with Ryzen 8-core processors and 16 GB of RAM. These will cover the price range of USD 1999 and USD 2399.
This information is curious and it would also be confirming new AMD 6 and 8 core chips for laptops that have not yet been announced by the red team. It could be that an ad is just around the corner and Microsoft is the exclusive launch partner. The Redmond giant and the chipmaker have previously collaborated with other companies. With the launch of xCloud about to start, it might make sense to get chips from AMD. After all, the company also makes custom Xbox chips.
