QNAP Mustang 200, new accelerator cards with two processors

The installation of the QNAP Mustang 200 accelerator offers multiple benefits, for example, users can configure the subsystems with the two processors of the card by means of a virtual machine or a container, for image processing, such as IP cameras, while that the host's own CPU handles its regular application, such as file processing.

Each of the two processors on the card has a 10 Gbit / s network chip and separate IP addresses so there is no problem. These QNAP Mustang-200 can be connected to storage via iscsi or fjbod. The card runs on QNAP's mQTS operating system, and subsystem management is run through the Mustang Card Manager.

For now QNAP has announced that it is launching three models of the QNAP Mustang 200 card, all based on a PCI Express 2.0 x4 interface: The first one comes with a Core i7-7567U processor, two 512GB SSDs and 16GB of RAM per CPU. The second one comes with Core i5-7267U with the same SSD and RAM, and finally there is a cheaper version with Celeron 3865U, without SSD and with only 4GB of RAM per CPU. The cards only work with QNAP TS-2477XU-RP, TS-1677XU-RP, TS-1685, TS-1677X, TVS-1282, TS-1277, TVS-882, and TS-877.

A cooling system with two fans will be responsible for maintaining the processors at adequate working temperatures.
