All apple stores outside china closed

In February it was in China where Apple closed all of its stores due to the coronavirus. Given the spread of the virus in the rest of the world, while in China it has been possible to control its spread, it is now in the rest of the world where the company's stores are closed. For at least 15 days all American brand stores in the world will be closed.

Just this week it was announced that its stores in Italy were closing indefinitely. Now the rest of the stores follow China.

In our workplaces and communities, we must do all we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Apple will be temporarily closing all stores outside of Greater China until March 27 and committing $ 15M to help with worldwide recovery.

Store closings

Apple's online store is going to remain open these weeks, so users can use it if they need anything. The company has been taking steps these weeks, like making its employees work from home as much as possible. This is simply an additional measure, necessary considering that there are areas that have declared a state of emergency.

In principle it is a measure that will last 15 days, although there are probably countries in which this will be extended a little more. It will depend on how the expansion of the coronavirus evolves in some countries at this time.

As more information is available, about reopening or about an expansion of its closings, Apple will communicate this to users and its workers. So we will have to wait to know what happens these weeks, but it could last more than 15 days in many cases.
