Currently, RGB LED lighting systems for PC are in fashion, they provide a visual aspect to our team and its components that are truly striking and create a unique and different team from the rest. Most major PC component manufacturers have their own RGB LED lighting system, with its own technology and customization options. Join us in this article to see all, or at least the most important PC lighting systems, so let's get there!
Index of contents
Gaming is in fashion and millions of users want to assemble their own PC and personalize it with unique components such as liquid cooling, incredible chassis or lighting strips that do what we want.
Amount of lighting equals higher power
Obviously not, but it is almost a fact that the amount of lighting is directly proportional to the power and cost of a component. Almost all manufacturers have their own "gaming" components, a gaming component is basically a normal component, if at all with a little more power and functionality oriented to the world of games, and above all a more beautiful visual aspect, so that we can show it off.
These gaming components are integrated into practically everything, motherboards, heatsinks, monitors, mice, keyboards, chassis, and everything we can think of. In fact, one of the few components that do not yet have RGB LED lighting are the processors, because even the RAM memories bring it.
The general trend is to create high-end components that are also really easy to identify because they have an impressive lighting section, you only have to see the RAM memories of G.Skill Trindent Z Royal, or the Asus ROG Rampage VI Extreme board. In short, I almost put my hand on the fire because the quality / lighting ratio is real. How could it be otherwise, my PC is full of lighting, there would be no sense not having it, right?
Let's see next what RGB LED lighting system for PC have the main manufacturers.
Asus Aura RGB
Asus Aura is the manufacturer's own lighting system Asus, and one of the most impactful today on its gaming components in the ROG (Republic of Gamers) division.
This technology is made up of a system made up of high quality LEDs and an intelligent system capable of representing up to 16.7 million colors in each of these LEDs. In addition to colors, devices with this technology will have a control through the Asus Aura Sync Utility software with which we can configure different animations and effects.
And the best of all is that from this software, we can synchronize all the devices of the brand we have with Aura Sync and other compatible brands, so that the effect is exactly the same. To do this, we will need to have our BIOS updated so that the Aura Sync connection bridge is established correctly. Another interesting possibility is to monitor the state of temperatures or sound through the lighting system, so besides being beautiful, it is very useful.
This type of lighting, motherboards, monitors, graphics cards, mice, keyboards, etc. are available in practically all the gaming devices that Asus manufactures.
Gigabyte RGB Fusion
This is the name of the Gigabyte and Gigabyte AORUS RGB LED PC lighting system, its quintessential gaming division. It is also a lighting system based on LED technology with 16.7 million colors and impressive lighting effects for its components.
In addition to Gigabyte's own products, this system is mounted by a multitude of devices from other manufacturers such as fans, RAM memories such as Geil, LED Phatenks, etc. To manage this lighting and customize its effects and individual lighting for each led, we have RGB Fusion software.
This system is also capable of synchronizing on all devices that mount it and that are compatible, just like the previous one. The manufacturer itself has motherboards, headphones, RAM, LED strips, laptops, keyboards, and everything you see with this technology.
Razer Chroma
Razer Chroma is one of the most widely used lighting technologies. This technology is also implemented with Philips Hue, and is obviously based on light emitting diodes capable of providing up to 16.7 million colors.
It is a customizable system that can also interact and synchronize with games to see, for example, the life we have left, music we are listening to, temperatures of our pc, etc. There are even electric cars that will implement this Razer technology soon!
Chassis, headset, monitors, laptops and all your devices can be managed using the Razer Synapse 3 software.
MSI Mystic Light
Another of the most relevant systems is that of MSI, with its MSI Mystic Light. This system is also present in most of the brand's gaming products.
This system has as utility the Mystic Light Sync software that will be able to synchronize not only devices with MSI lighting, but also others from the Cooler Master, Corsair, G-Skill, SilverStone, Geil, BitFenix Alchemy and Phanteks brands.
With another utility called Mystic Light Party, we can also synchronize not only our team, but other MSI teams of teammates. To this we add an application for Android or iOS that will also allow us to customize the lighting through a Smartphone.
ASRock Polychrome RGB Sync
We continue with the proprietary technology of other major PC hardware manufacturers. ASRock's system is similar to that of other brands, and with the same ability to synchronize with devices that implement this technology.
The Polychrome RGB software will be in charge of managing this lighting technology on our PC with both manufacturer's devices, such as the LED strips and elements connected to the headers of the ASRock motherboards.
Corsair iCUE
It is not a lighting system as such, since the brand does not have, unless we know, its own name for its lighting technology. What we do have is a software from the brand with this name, iCUE that will provide us with the necessary interface to customize this RGB LED lighting system.
Like other brands, many of their products include this iCUE technology and we can also acquire a microcontroller called Corsair Comander PRO, to be able to connect lighting systems and devices and thus be able to synchronize them.
NZXT HUE +
We continue with the NZXT lighting technology, present in its chassis, liquid cooling and other brand products. The system also has LED diodes capable of displaying up to 16.7 million colors, which will be perfectly customizable using CAM software.
Something similar to that shown with Corsair occurs with NZXT, the brand has several products capable of increasing the connectivity of lighting systems and LED strips to be able to personalize everything through CAM. These products are the NZXT HUE +, HUE 2 RGB, HUE 2 Ambient and HUE 2 Underglow.
These are the main manufacturers and RGB LED lighting systems for PC that we will find in the market. Of course there are many more, almost as many as manufacturers, but we consider these to be the most important.
