Tsmc is beating intel in the semiconductor market

During the Future Horizons conference, where the future of semiconductors is discussed, there was talk about a paradigm shift that is taking place in the manufacture of chips, where the Taiwanese company TSMC, has placed itself at the forefront of technology, winning no less than Intel.

TSMC is ahead of Intel with its cutting-edge 7nm technology

At the bottom of the conference statements, there is a revealing note that should give chills to the Californian brand.

TSMC has beaten Intel with its 7nm nodes, causing a deep mess at Intel, which until a few years ago was the undisputed leader in semiconductor manufacturing. To such a point is this victory, that even today Intel continues to manufacture chips at 14 nm, and only at the end of this year should it be making the leap towards 10 nm.

For the year 2020, TSMC already plans to make the leap towards 5 nm, so that technological gap would be maintained.

Future Horizons chief analyst Malcolm Penn said the Taiwanese company has long dominated semiconductor technology, which should make new Intel CEO Bob Swan unable to sleep peacefully at night.

With the appointment of Bob Swan, Intel hopes to once again be the undisputed leader in the industry with cutting-edge technologies. Malcolm Penn is hopeful that Swan will look a bit like the great Andy Grove, Intel CEO from 1987 to 1998, which are without a doubt the best times for the company in its entire history.
