Twitter removes the egg for your user profiles

For several years now, the avatar of the egg has symbolized those new users on the Twitter platform, the network of 140 characters. The idea behind the egg was to show the birth of a new user, but over the years its meaning has been changing for the worse.

Currently Twitter is a network where everyone places an avatar that believes to represent them, but normally the accounts of toxic users and harassers, do not use any avatar and leave the image of the egg by default. That is why today the image of the egg does not generate any confidence, this was what prompted Twitter to change it definitively.

Twitter is going to change the default image for avatars and use one that more symbolizes a person in gray colors.

Another reason why they remove the avatar from the egg is that, in their words, it was too 'cute' and did not encourage users to want to change it for another. With the new avatar in gray colors, Twitter aims to make them 'uglier' to encourage users to be more creative and want to change them for something a little more representative.
