In the market we can find hundreds of different Mini PCs, although they all have in common that they work with an Intel processor. UDOO BOLT wants to end this by becoming the first model equipped with a Ryzen V1000 processor, opening up a whole world of possibilities.

UDOO BOLT, all about the Ryzen processor-based Mini PC

Ryzen V1000 is a line of embedded processors from AMD under the Zen architecture, which enables very significant processing power to be achieved with very low power consumption. These features make these processors ideal for use on extremely compact PCs like this UDOO BOLT. There is talk of the AMD Ryzen Embedded V1202B processor that offers two cores and four threads at frequencies of 2.30 / 3.20 GHz with Radeon Vega 3 graphics and a TDP of 12-25W. There's also talk of the 2.00 / 3.60 GHz 4-core, 8-core Ryzen Embedded V1605B with Radeon Vega 8 graphics and a 12-25W TDP.

As we can see, these are processors with a very low power consumption, although they require a heatsink with a small fan to avoid overheating. Accompanying these processors will be 32GB of eMMC memory, WiFi 802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.0, one Ethernet port, one infrared port, connectors for Arduino, one SATA III slot, three M.2 ports, and two SO-DIMM slots with support for up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory.

These features make the UDOO BOLT compatible with Windows, Linux and even goes a step further by offering support for Arduino. All this for a starting price of 196 euros the most basic version that includes only the motherboard with all its components and slots, 255 euros with 4 GB of RAM and an external 65W PSU, and finally 457 euros the version with 16 GB of RAM, the 65W PSU, a metal chassis and the cables necessary for its use.
