Indian smartphone maker UMi has phones with great features but small prices. And that is perhaps the path that little by little all brands are following. The UMi X2 Turbo, a slightly more powerful variant of the well-known normal UMi X2, which has slightly more frequency in its processor.

characteristics

The Turbo model has features worthy of many top-end smartphones. For example, if we talk about its processor, the Mediatek MT6589T, we are talking about four cores at a speed of 1.5 GHz. As you can see, things start very well. Just as I point out, this processor is an improved version of its little brother, the MT6589, which moved with ease at 1.2 GHz also spread across four cores. According to UMi, this processor yields 35 to 50% more than its predecessor.

Forgetting about the processor, the most amazing thing about the UMi X2 Turbo is that the rest of the features are very much on par with its powerful processor. Its 2 GB (there is also a 1 GB version) of RAM and its impressive resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 440 ppi, elevate this fantastic phone to the category of the Samsung Galaxy S4. The screen is protected by the well-known Gorilla Glass. The size is 5 inches.

Design and camera

In the photographic facet, the UMi embarrasses any iPhone of almost € 700. 13 megapixels with Auto-focus and 1080p recording and a 3 megapixel front and secondary camera. A storage of 16 or 32 GB, which if we fall short we can expand with a microSD of up to 32 GB. And now the icing on the cake: it supports two simultaneous SIMs to handle two lines at once.

Price and availability

As for the design, it stands out for its plastic casing and especially for having a shape very similar to a Samsung. Despite this, it is not a striking design at all. However, it is compensated by its characteristics. But wait, its price also makes up for it: € 149 on the 16GB model and 1GB of RAM. This phone is available from May 15. Pegas: It comes with Android 4.2.1, a slightly older version of the current one and the brand is UMi, India, which will substantially complicate technical support.
