I don't know exactly how many NVMe M.2 form factor SSDs have RGB lighting (not many), but Patriot's new Viper VPR100 is one of them. Aside from lighting, it's also fast using the PCIe 4.0 interface.

Patriot Viper VPR100 is now available with 2TB, 1TB, 512GB, and 256GB capacities

PCIe 4.0 drives come with a few caveats: They need to be paired with an AMD X570 motherboard to take advantage of their full-speed capabilities, and even so, the speed difference wouldn't be all that important in video games.

Patriot Viper VPR100 comes in four capacities, which are 2TB, 1TB, 512GB, and 256GB. Specifications vary slightly by model and depending on the metric you use (Patriot provides CDM and ATTO sequential read and write ratings).

The performance results at ATTO are as follows:

  • 2TB = 3, 300MB / s read, 2, 900MB / s write 1TB = 3, 300MB / s read, 2, 900MB / s write 512 = GB-3, 300 MB / s read, 2, 100 MB / s write 256 = GB-3, 300 MB / s read, 1, 000 MB / s writing

Write performance falls apart on the 256GB model, although on its own, it's still pretty fast. Speed ratings are slightly different than Patriot Viper VPN100 SSDs, which lack RGB lighting.

As for endurance, Patriot rates the 2TB model with 3, 115 Terabytes Written (TBW), the 1TB model with 1, 600TBW, the 512GB model with 800TBW, and the 256GB model with 380TBW.
