VirtualBox 5.1.8 is now available and brings with it some notable improvements in the field of operating system virtualization.

VirtualBox 5.1.8 now available in Linux repositories

VirtualBox is one of the most used visualization softwares at the moment, which allows us to test one operating system within another, very useful when you have to test the novelties of a system without installing it or creating partitions. This application can be used on GNU / Linux, Mac OS X, OS / 2 Warp, Windows and Solaris / OpenSolaris systems, and within them it is possible to virtualize FreeBSD, GNU / Linux, OpenBSD, OS / 2 Warp, Windows operating systems., Solaris, MS-DOS, among others.

One of the most interesting novelties of this version is the support for the new Linux 4.8 Kernel, the last one that was released so far. Support for Python 3 and bug fixes in SAS controllers was also added. Snapshot creation and deletion and keyboard enhancements have been improved. Security bug fixes is also one of the reasons for this new release.

In addition to this update, VirtualBox 5.0 has also been updated to the new version 5.0.28, this one already with LTS support, contrary to 5.1.8.

VirtualBox 5.1.8 and 5.0.28 should already be available in the repositories of most current Linux distros to be downloaded and installed free of charge.
