Live Focus will not require a computer to function
HTC Vive Focus are alternative glasses to the already known original Vive, which do require a computer to function. In the case of the new Focus model, it has a computer inside the glasses and it will not require external sensors to track the user in space, being able to track 6DoF.
The hardware inside these Vive Focus glasses is led by a Snapdragon 835 processor and will feature an AMOLED screen to reduce latency as much as possible. HTC plans to sell a bundle or package with these glasses and the Fallout 4 VR video game, which would work on this ARM processor. What will be the results with this video game?
The presentation has only been in the announcement of the HTC Vive Focus, but we do not know anything about its price and a release date. What is confirmed is that these new autonomous virtual reality glasses are going to debut first in China and then in the rest of the world. From its launch in Asian territory, we can surely estimate how much it would cost in the west.
We will see what kind of quality content can be made for these Focus glasses, in a virtual reality market that does not stop taking off.
