The nokia 8110 returns, now with 4g and a price of 79 euros
Table of contents:
During the MWC in Barcelona, Nokia officially presented the 'new' Nokia 8110 phone, a rehash of the device that became immortal thanks to the Matrix film franchise.
Nokia 8110 is the famous Matrix phone
This new version of the legendary slider phone now comes with 4G connectivity and a select group of applications such as Google Assistant, Maps, Search, Facebook, Twitter and the classic Snake to remember old times. It also comes with a 17-day battery life, no less, and about nine days of talk time. Unfortunately this great autonomy we can not have in high-end phones, for now.
The 8110 will be sold in two colors, yellow and black, both with a curvature quite characteristic of this phone.
Nokia was once known for phones with great features and durability, and HMD Global is looking to capitalize on that nostalgia. The 8110 joins the ranks of the 3310, another great success for the company. The new version of the 3310 is selling like hotcakes right now and HDM Global wants to do the same with 8110.
The company managed to sell some 70 million devices worldwide in 2017, both with smartphones and those that are not. To practical uses, a phone that is not smart (that does not have Android - iOS, etc.) seems to be obsolete today for most, but somehow HMD managed to make them work. After all, there are people who only need a phone to make calls and not for other purposes, so these options are ideal for them.
