These days WhatsApp has been in the news for the introduction of the possibility of deleting sent messages. Something that users had been waiting for a long time. It was known that the Facebook-owned application had been developing this function for a long time, which is finally available for Android and iOS. A new function arrives and another function has been removed by the application.

WhatsApp no longer allows you to edit sent messages

It was rumored that WhatsApp was also working on a new function that would allow us to edit the sent messages. Many sources commented that it would come with the option to delete sent messages. But finally, it seems that the application has abandoned this option.

Cannot edit sent messages

For reasons that are still unknown, WhatsApp has decided to abandon the development of this function. It will no longer be possible to edit sent messages. It is unknown if this feature has been permanently abandoned, or will simply come in future updates. So you will have to be aware of possible news from the company in the coming weeks.

The application's decision was to leave only the option to delete sent messages. A very useful option, but it does not allow us to edit a message in case we have made a mistake. We will have to copy the message, paste it and edit it before sending it again. A somewhat annoying and laborious process.

WhatsApp has been introducing a lot of news in recent weeks. Mostly very positive, although it is a shame that the option to edit messages does not (yet) reach the popular application. What do you think about it? Does that seem like a good decision?
