The safety of America's top agencies is again in doubt. First it was the Pentagon that surprised us with old computers, now it is the CIA that presents problems. In this case they are different, but again related to security.

WikiLeaks Filters CIA Source Code to Track Whistleblowers

The battle between WikiLeaks and the United States does not stop. Documents and source codes for a project called "Scribbles" are now filtered. It is a software designed to add labels to confidential documents. In this way they can track foreign spies or any traitor. This is a new CIA leak by WikiLeaks.

Why is “Scribbles” used?

This program is responsible for creating a random watermark for each document. A file is then created of all the documents that have said watermark and also a system that identifies them. The aim is that in this way it will be possible to know precisely which documents have been stolen or leaked, and by whom. Every time someone enters one of these documents, a file is created with information about the person who entered. Including your IP.

As it has also been known, these documents are intended to be opened with Microsoft Office. If opened with other programs, URLs or watermarks will be revealed.

According to documents leaked by WikiLeaks, the latest Scribbles date dates to March 2016. It is implied that it has not been used since, so it is to be thought that another program is being used instead. It is not the latest CIA leak by WikiLeaks, and it is certainly not the last.
