Windows 10, and previous Microsoft operating systems, have always been unable to give us a good level of detail about the actual operation of our system. To find out things of that nature, you usually need a third-party application (like HWMonitor or CPU-Z).

Upcoming Windows 10 update will add GPU temperature monitoring

However, in a report via PCWorld , one of the upcoming features planned for Windows 10 will attempt to introduce GPU temperature and performance monitoring.

As a new feature to the task manager, compatible graphics card owners will be able to get a fairly detailed analysis of what is currently happening with the graphics card or GPU and, perhaps most importantly, the temperatures at which it is operating.

It is not specified which graphics cards will be compatible with monitoring, but we believe that they will be, at least, those with DirectX 12 compatibility, but most likely they are all those that have been released in recent years.

Having the option to check the temperature of the graphics cards directly through the Windows 10 task manager will be good. However, monitoring CPU temperature still seems to be off the agenda for Microsoft, something we see as unintelligible, since knowing the CPU temperature is more important than knowing the GPU temperature.

Either way, possibly the option of monitoring the temperature of the CPU is also integrated later and this could be a good first step to be more aware of what happens to our computer quickly and easily.
