Microsoft released Build 15014 for Windows 10 with a new feature that helps delete all unnecessary files automatically every 30 days or when your disk drives are low on space.

Freeing up space automatically in Windows 10 Build 15014

The Windows Insider program has been a success for Microsoft, where it collects all the feedback from the community to improve its next updates, correcting errors and adding features that are requested by users.

One of the new options that we will see in the Creators Update (which debuts in Build 15014) is to be able to free up space automatically.

The new function to free up space automatically is disabled by default and we can activate it by entering the Configuration section. Within System, we enter Storage, there we find a new option (In English) Change how we free up space. Within these options we will have two boxes, one for Windows 10 to free up application space that you do not use for a long time and another to delete temporary files every 30 days, this includes the recycle bin. To activate or deactivate this option we will have the Storage sense box, which controls the entire process.

“To save an extra step when your disk space is low, we've added a new option in Storage Settings to automatically delete files you don't need. This applies to unused temporary files and items that have been in your recycle bin for 30 days, " says Dona Sarkar, director of the Windows Insider program.

It is unknown if they will continue to add options to this section, because we would love to free up space automatically without touching the recycle bin, for example.
