With Windows 10 Anniversary already available, Microsoft begins the development of the next great Redstone 2 update that will arrive during the year 2017. Today we can already see one of the first Builds that they have published in the Insider program, Windows 10 Build 14905.

Windows 10 Build 14905 adds new sounds

Windows 10 Build 14905 is now available in the Microsoft Insider Quick Ring for PC and Mobile platforms. From the official Windows blog, Dona Sarkar has left some comments about this new Build.

We are introducing a new refined sound to this compilation, bringing together the best of our past and present. We aspire to establish a new top of quality in mobile sound sets, and we are trying to make the sound section of technology more beautiful and harmonious. This also helps align with the new sound design direction of the Windows platform as a whole, so that mobile sounds are related to desktop and tablet PC sounds. You can go to Settings> Personalization> Sounds to see the updated list of available sounds and let us know what you think!

In addition to setting a new sound scheme, Windows 10 Build 14905 fixes some problems:

PC improvements and bugs fixed

  • We fixed an issue that caused a large white space to appear between the address bar and web content after the address bar moved to the top when a new Microsoft Edge tab is opened. We've updated the mode of Narrator scan for navigation in a table, so it now supports CTRL + ALT + HOME to go to the beginning of the table and CTRL + ALT + END to go to the end of the table. Microsoft Edge now supports the CTRL + O keyboard shortcut to be placed in the address bar. We have fixed an issue in the sketchpad and annotations in the screenshots that caused unexpected closings after trying to change the color of the ink twice in a row when the ruler was visible.

Improvements and errors fixed in Mobile

  • Missed call notifications are now more interactive, with options to call back, send a text message, or remember to do something later. We fixed an issue where videos played in Windows Phone 8 apps might not pause when Receive an incoming call. We have fixed an issue where if you had "Show my caller ID" set to "My Contacts" the contact you are calling might still see a blocked Caller ID. We have fixed an issue where lock screen could crash updating to new time after changing time zone, we have fixed an issue where music would not resume after terminating a call if step by step instructions were being read outside of the app Maps when the call was received.
