Complaints about the latest Windows 10 update have not stopped. Microsoft released a new update on September 10, and by September 12, it was clear that the update had not resolved the Windows Desktop Search issues it had been specifically created to fix. Windows Latest then discovered that many people have complained that cumulative update KB4515384 was also causing audio problems.

Windows 10: Latest update breaks system audio

These problems seem to vary from person to person. Some claimed that update KB4515384 reset all audio settings, others said it caused playback issues while playing, and still others said it caused problems with noise levels. Audio issues aren't the only issues with update KB4515384 as some people claim that the screenshots and cutouts have an orange tint.

Microsoft recognized several of these problems in its support documentation. The orange tint in the screenshots and clippings has been marked "Solved", while previously reported problems with Windows Desktop Search were marked "Recognized". There's nothing about the audio issues yet, but since it took a few days for search issues to appear on the Windows desktop, it's no surprise.

These ongoing issues make it harder than ever to convince people that keeping Windows 10 up to date is worth it. Updates have repeatedly caused performance issues, broken important features, and made the experience worse rather than better. However, because they contain security updates, users must choose to protect their systems at the cost of some errors.

Has any of these problems happened to you?
