Microsoft has just released a new build of Windows 10 Redstone 3 for members of the Windows Insider fast ring, this time with support for both mobile phones and PCs.

Build 16176 Windows 10 Redstone 3 for PCs and mobiles

This is the first build of the Redstone 3 update for Windows 10 Mobile devices, and unsurprisingly, there are no major new features or new features since Microsoft's primary goal right now is to improve OneCore and pave the way for future more important improvements that could come in the next months.

Windows 10 build 16176 adds support for serial devices in the Windows subsystem for Linux, so Windows COM ports can now be accessed from a WSL process. This is the only new feature in this build, and it's available exclusively for PCs, so mobile devices haven't gotten anything new.

On the other hand, there are also several changes and improvements both on PC and mobile, which you can find out in detail if you open the release notes.

Known issues

At the same time, there are also several known issues, but there is one that PC users should be aware of when installing this build. Specifically, Win32 apps ported to the Windows Store through the Project Centennial will not work in this compilation and will cause the green screen of death to appear, the company said.

In the case of mobiles, users should be alert if they get the error 800b0109 when trying to download this Build, although Microsoft said that with a simple restart of the device the update can be carried out without problems.

Please note that this new build of Windows 10 Redstone 3 is available exclusively to members of the Windows Insider Fast ring, so more issues may arise on both smartphones and PCs.
