The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will be officially presented on October 25, but we already have some details of this phone that will come with support for 5G connectivity.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 with 6.4-inch screen and Snapdragon 855 chip

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Mi Mix 3 will support 5G connectivity, but the company may be hiding something even more interesting about the hardware: a next-generation Snapdragon chipset. This chip would be the Snapdragon 855, although a change in Qualcomm's naming scheme is rumored to launch it as the 8150.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 would come with a 6.4-inch screen, a 20 + 16-megapixel dual camera, 256GB of storage, and a 3, 850mAh battery. The RAM memory capacity would be 8 GB.

If this information is true, Xiaomi would be betting on a totally new chip and not the Snapdragon 845. Qualcomm's first 5G modems are external, that is, they only do 5G and leave the older networks to the modem integrated in the chipset. Therefore, 5G connectivity was not a guarantee of a chipset upgrade. Also, the Snapdragon 855/8150 has yet to be officially announced. This could ruin the possibility that Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 includes a completely new chip.

The screen size is also curious, it matches the diagonal of the original Mi Mix (the 2 and the 2S). The aspect ratio will be higher than 19.5: 9, but the resolution is expected to stay the same with 1080p +. However, Xiaomi has confirmed that the rear dual camera will be safely upgraded as the slow motion video recording is 960fps.

We will have to wait until October 25 to verify this information.
