Xiaomi wants to eat the smartphone market and the first step to do so is to dominate with an iron fist in its native China and then expand to the rest of the world. With this objective in mind, the Chinese firm is preparing to announce its next flagship, the Xiaomi Mi5, which would come with truly cutting-edge specifications to establish itself as one of the best smartphones on the market, if not the best.

The Xiaomi Mi5 would be announced next November 11 at the "Mi Dual 11" event. The smartphone would arrive with a 5.2-inch screen with the impressive Quad HD 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution resulting in an incredible pixel density of 554ppi for impeccable image quality.

Inside is expected a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor consisting of four Kryo cores and a powerful Adreno 530 GPU, both prepared for heterogeneous computing and unprecedented performance. Along with the processor, 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and an internal storage to choose between 16GB and 64GB are expected, supposedly not expandable in both cases. State-of-the-art hardware that could not be beaten as long as the overheating problems suffered by the Snapdragon 810 have been solved. All this powered by a non-removable 3, 030 mAh battery.

The Xiaomi Mi5 would be the first smartphone with the Snapdragon 820 processor for exceptional performance.

We arrived at the optics and, supposedly, the Xiaomi Mi5 would arrive with a 16-megapixel main camera with dual-tone LED flash, autofocus, optical stabilization and the ability to record video at a maximum resolution of 4K and 30 fps. For its part, the front camera would be 6 megapixels with the ability to record at a maximum of 1080p.

Finally we would find the MIUI 7 operating system, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a fingerprint scanner and the usual WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac connections, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and possibly NFC.

Their prices would be around 300 euros for the 16 GB model and 360 euros for the 64 GB model.

Xiaomi could also present a Xiaomi Mi5 Plus which would see its screen increased to 5.7 inches, a 3, 500 mAh battery and 23-megapixel cameras with laser autofocus and a 12-megapixel front.

The Xiaomi Mi5 Plus would arrive for those who do not settle for the Mi5 and want the most of the most.
