Xigmatek perseus, spectacular open frame pc case
Table of contents:
The current trend is tilting towards 'open frame' boxes and it is Xigmatek's turn to add a new model with this guideline, the Xigmatek Perseus.
Xigmatek Perseus is a dramatically designed open frame PC case
Halfway between a Zeus and other competitors, it benefits from a rather aggressive look, in particular with the integration of a 120mm front fan with RGB directional lighting between two bias plates made of steel.
The frame is made of a 1.0mm thick material, suggesting that aluminum is reserved for steel, with the two 4.0mm tempered glass panels on the left and right.
Four other RGB fans complete the ventilation, with fixed or changing lighting through a control box, depending on the version of the box. Lastly, there are two USB 3.0 ports on the top of the unit, as well as sound.
Inside, the sloping chassis appears to offer plenty of space with ATX compatibility and seven PCI mounts. However, liquid cooling is severely limited as there is only one 240mm slot at the top, all the others are in strict 120mm. For storage, there's a 2.5 ″ slot behind the motherboard in the classic way, with a detachable faceplate for two 2.5 ″ or one 3.5 ″ disks; again quite limited.
On the other hand, there is a 400mm slot for graphics cards, while the processor heatsink is 170mm tall. The power supply is limited to 180mm, which is also interesting.
The box is still imposing and measures no less than 610 x 230 x 540mm, so there is plenty of room, but plenty of wasted space as always in the angle boxes. Visit the official product page for more information.
