Dell has announced its latest generation XPS 13 notebook based on the recently announced 10th generation Intel Core “Comet Lake” processors. Initially, Dell's new 13.3-inch laptops will come with quad-core CPUs, but starting in October, the company will also offer the laptop with more core options.

Dell XPS 13 make use of 10th generation Intel Core “Comet Lake”

Being one of the most popular 13.3-inch laptops on the market, the XPS 13 has a long history of evolution. The XPS 13 Model 7390 has been completely redesigned both inside and out. The new kits come with a CNC machined aluminum chassis with a carbon fiber composite or fiberglass mount, making them look considerably different than their predecessors. Among other things, the main peculiarities of the new XPS 13 are its thickness and its low weight. PCs have a height of 7.8 - 11.6 mm and a weight of between 1.16 - 1.23 kilograms, depending on the model, so the new notebooks are among the thinnest 13.3-inch notebooks and light on the market right now.

The XPS 13 is equipped with a 13.3-inch LCD panel with slim InfinityEdge bezels, as well as an 80.7% screen-to-laptop ratio. The screen can have 1920 × 1080 or 3840 × 2160 resolution. The brightness is 400 nits, it has a contrast ratio of 1500: 1, and it comes with Dolby Vision support on select models.

Dell XPS 13 uses the 10th Gen Core i3 / i5 / i7 Comet Lake-U processors. The CPUs are cooled by a new cooling system that is based on two fans, an ultra-flat steam chamber and GORE thermal insulation to ensure stable performance even under high loads.

This series of notebooks can be equipped with up to 16 GB of soldered DRAM, as well as a PCIe SSD drive of up to 2 TB. When it comes to connectivity, the XPS 13 7390 series includes a Killer AX1650 Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5 controller, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a microSD card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and other options.

Dell's XPS 13 with quad-core CPU will be available starting August 27 for $ 899.99.
