YouTube is working in an incognito mode for its Android app. A novelty that will allow users to keep the browsing history under lock and key, as do many other applications such as Google Chrome, Chromecast, SwiftKey and the Gboard keyboard application.

YouTube offers an incognito mode on Android

Surfing the web is becoming an increasingly user-friendly matter, as every click is monitored and every video you browse is carefully recorded in YouTube's play history, so your algorithms can continue to provide recommendations based on the user tastes. YouTube currently offers the ability to disable viewing history within the app's settings menu, but it cannot be accessed instantly, which may discourage some users from doing so.

The new incognito mode will appear in a much more prominent position. To access, you just have to touch the avatar in the upper right corner of the YouTube application, with this you should see the option 'Activate incognito' just below the option Change account / Close session. While this mode is activated, the avatar becomes the incognito spy icon and no activity is recorded.

For now this new function would be reaching a few users to test it before implementing it definitively, if it does not appear in your application, it is very possible that it will do so in a few days. This is an important novelty in a widely used application, and at a time when the privacy of users is more important than ever.
