Zalman begins selling his zm fans
Here's one of the latest Zalman- designed fans, the ZM-DF12. Made at 120mm x 25mm wide, the amazing thing about this fan is its 'double helix' design, which makes airflow higher at lower speeds. The double helix is basically two sets of blades that rotate along a common motor. The motor features a nano-polymer bearing that has a lower thermal deformation over time than common bearing types. The rear of the motor hub therefore does not rotate together with the impeller. Instead, it has a controller that allows you to get 3 speed points - 800 RPM, 1200 RPM, and 1600 RPM. The fan has a 3-pin connector. At its maximum speed, it pushes 63.76 CFM of air, with a noise production of 33 dBA.
