We are talking about a keyboard that has a chiclet design, in which all the keys are separated and that has dedicated keys with support for multimedia playbackIn addition to that, on the right we find a touch pad (touchpad) like the one integrated in laptops with which to control your computer, console or TV Natural way.
It is available in black with a matte finish and the keys printed in white and dedicated functions in blue.
On the back, the only thing that stands out is the cover that hides the slot for two AAA batteries that power the keyboard and a small magnetic hole for transporting the 2.4 GHz USB transmitter so that it doesn't get lost.
Analysis and conclusions after two weeks of use
Microsoft has launched this keyboard on the market at a price of €39.95 RRP and although it is not one of the cheapest with these characteristics, we can say that it is one of the devices with the best finish and operation we have tested.
We have tested the keyboard in different scenarios and its performance has been mostly good and we detail it below:
- Desktop / Laptop PC: Use as a traditional keyboard is good.In such a compact size (such as a keyboard with a numeric keypad area, we already have a keyboard and mouse. The precision of the touch area is very good, also being a very wide area and with gesture support for Windows 8. We miss it for a desktop use the ability to vary the degree of inclination of the keyboard,
- HTPC: let's say that this type of use is a particular use of the previous one or systems such as Raspberri Pi with XBMC or Android HDMI stick. In this scenario we highlight that despite being a keyboard with full-size keys and a large touch area, it is light and manageable.
- Xbox One / Smart TV: Any device that has USB HID (Human interface Device) support is compatible with this keyboard, and the Use is natural, without installing drivers or any added problems, connect the small USB transmitter and that's it.
As you can see, this is a very versatile device that will surely delight any type of user since you can use it with your computer desktop and take it to the living room and continue using it with your console or your SmartTV
An intelligent bet by Microsoft to which we can only put down that the price is slightly above other devices competition.
