The first day of IFA 2019 is clearly being the day of news from Acer. The company now leaves us with its new models in the range of Swift ultraportables. In this case we have been left with two new models in it, which are the Swift 5 and Swift 3, as it has been seen in this presentation event of the well-known brand.

These two new models comply with the classic of the range. They give us everything you need in an ultraportable: sleek case, refined design, and slim bezels with excellent performance and battery life. A range that surely sells very well.

Acer Swift 5, the lightest 14-inch laptop in the world

First we find the 14-inch Acer Swift 5. This laptop has been recognized for being the lightest in its class since its inception, something they keep in this case. This latest generation weighs just 990 grams. In addition, it comes with a new option for NVIDIA GeForce MX2501 standalone graphics, or even less in the version with newly updated Intel Iris Pro integrated graphics and a thickness of only 14.95 mm. The display features a narrow, three-sided bezel with an 86.4% screen-to-chassis ratio.

The Acer Swift 5 features a tenth generation Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor. It supports a maximum of 512 GB of PCIe Gen 3 × 4 SSD storage. For the screen, the brand has made use of a 14-inch Full HD IPSiii touch screen. The laptop also comes with a full-featured USB3.1 Type-C connector, which supports Thunderbolt 3, dual-band Intel Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), and Windows Hello via a fingerprint reader.

Designed for non-stop professionals, Swift 5 is a lightweight yet powerful laptop with up to 12.5 hours of battery life for non-stop productivity. Swift 5 supports fast charging, providing up to 4.5 hours of use with just 30 minutes of charging. Users can log in by simply tapping the integrated fingerprint reader through Windows Hello for easier and more secure access.

A cer Swift 3, a powerful and elegant laptop

The second model in this range is the Acer Swift 3, which stands out for being elegant and light. This model has a 14-inch Full HD IPS3 screen and weighs just 1.19 kg. It is a model with great power in its 15.95 mm thick case, thanks to having a tenth-generation Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor with Intel Iris Plus graphics and an optional NVIDIA GeForce MX250 independent GPU.

It also includes up to 512 GB of PCIe Gen 3 × 4 SSD storage, 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, Thunderbolt 3, and dual-band Intel Wi-Fi 6, for a more stable and enjoyable wireless experience, making it a superior ultraportable computer to work and play. It offers up to 12.5 hours of autonomy. In addition, it comes with fast charge, which allows a charge of 30 minutes, which will give us up to 4 hours of autonomy.

Suitable for both work and play, Swift 3 brings images and video to life by using thin 4.37mm bezels and an 84% screen-to-chassis ratio. For further color enhancement, Swift 3 also includes Acer Color Intelligence and Acer ExaColor technology for sharper, enhanced images.

Pricing and availability

Acer has confirmed that this new range will be launched this September in stores. In the case of the Swift 5 it will do so at a price of 999 euros. On the other hand, the Swift 3 is cheaper, in its case for 599 euros in price.
