At the beginning of August we had told you about the freezing problems that some Windows 10 users were having after installing the Anniversary update. The failure was recognized by Microsoft in mid-August and that caused several users to experience freezing problems at random, it did not seem to have to do with any configuration of the equipment, Intel and AMD platforms were affected equally.

No more freezes on Windows 10 Anniversary

Microsoft has finally released a solution on August 31 with cumulative update KB3176938 and now the company recommends that all users experiencing this problem update as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Microsoft ensures that the patch is installed automatically for all those users who install the Anniversary version for the first time, so if you are a first-time user in this new edition, you will not have to install this update manually in Windows Update.

“Following the release of the Anniversary update for Windows 10, Microsoft has received a small number of reports that Windows 10 was freezing on login after installing the Anniversary update. With the help of users and MVPs in the research forums, the cause of the problem was determined that is in those computers with two logical units '' they explain.

While the patch fixes much of this problem, Microsoft admits that a small number of users may still experience this bug and invite them to contact technical support.

In order to install the update we must go to Settings> Update and security> Windows Update> Check for updates.
