Windows 10 anniversary 'freezes' on ssd drives

Microsoft is receiving several reports from users with problems after installing the Anniversary update in Windows 10 and causing the system to freeze. The drawback arises when the operating system is installed on one SSD hard drive and applications are installed on another drive.

The update causes problems with SSD drives

Two weeks ago that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update has been on the street and since then there are not a few reports of errors of freezes in the system. This time there have been cases that are already being investigated by Microsoft and that cause the system to be branded on computers where Windows 10 is installed on an SSD, which are surely not few due to the proliferation and cheaper costs of this type of units.

Microsoft has recommended, at the moment, to start the system in 'safe mode' so that the problem does not continue to occur, but this is not a highly recommended option for a frequently used computer. Fortunately it is always possible to go back with the Anniversary update and leave the system as it was without this new update, at least within the first 10 days after installing it.

Start in safe mode in Windows 10:

• Restart the computer. When the login screen is displayed, press the Shift key while selecting Start / Shutdown > Restart. When the computer restarts, on the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup settings > Restart. After the computer has restarted, you will see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start the computer in Safe Mode. If you need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.
