A month or so ago. Cfir Cohen, a member of the Google Cloud security team, alerted AMD to an issue with EPYC processors' secure encrypted virtualization (SEV) functionality. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to intercept a secret key that could give access to isolated virtual machines.

AMD Addresses SEV Security Vulnerability in EPYC CPUs with Firmware Update

This specific vulnerability has been patched, but requires a firmware update. The update is called CVE-2019-9836 and of course it is highly recommended that it be installed as soon as possible on all computers that will have an EPYC processor. Fortunately this is not affecting the common user as much, but rather the server sector, which is where the EPYC chips point.
