The second generation Ryzen processors have obtained excellent reviews from analysts and users, what they did not like so much was the information in the FAQ, which points out that these processors lose the guarantee, if a heatsink is used different from the reference, something that doesn't make any sense, so hopefully this is a mistake.

AMD will change the warranty section in its FAQ

The use of more advanced heatsinks than the reference models is something that is very widespread, and that only provides benefits, by making the processors work at lower temperatures than with the one included by AMD and Intel. Therefore, there is no point in voiding the warranty for using a different heatsink, furthermore, it is impossible for the company to know which heatsink has been used.

Fortunately, it has been confirmed that AMD plans to update its FAQ section regarding the warranty issue, this has been confirmed by AMD Senior Product Manager James Prior. The FAQ section of AMD's warranty website is five years old, thus from a pre-Zen / Ryzen era, in which the FX Piledriver series formed the company's high-end line.

Unfortunately, AMD has not provided details about the update, although it makes sense given the document's legal relevance and the lengthy review process that will be required before the page can be updated. The assumption is that AMD will reformulate the warranty, to say that it will not cover damage that may arise as a result of using a third-party heatsink or cooling solution.
