AMD's Raven Ridge series of CPUs offer PC users the highest level of performance with integrated graphics processors, this is the Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G. The success of these new AMD APU processors was somewhat weighed down by some problems, although thanks to the work of the AMD BIOS team we believe that it has been fixed with AGESA 1002a.

AGESA 1002a BIOS update fixes stability issues on Raven Ridge

Users of the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G suffered from random frequency drop problems, especially in games like Assassin's Creed Origins . This issue affected the Raven Ridge 2200G to a lesser extent and is replicable in several other games where both the CPU and GPU portion of the system are heavily affected, which was pointed to some issue with the power management system.

AMD has addressed the issue internally with its latest update to the AGESA 1002a microcode, which has now begun rolling out in a new BIOS update. Below is a comment from AMD's Ryzen Twitter page, announcing the release of this new AGESA update.

AGESA 1002a are out now for Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G with performance and smoothness improvements for PUBG, Overwatch, and Minecraft. This update should already be available to major motherboard manufacturers, so take a look at the support and download pages.
