Amd confirms that it works on two new socs, one of them possibly for the new nintendo console
For the past few weeks, it has been rumored that Nintendo is working on a new console to succeed the WiiU, which has not had the expected success at the sales level. The new console of the Japanese would have a SoC made by AMD, like PS4 and Xbox One.
AMD CFO Devinder Kumar has stated that the company is working on two new SoCs for 2016, one of them based on x86 and the other on ARM. We do not know which of the two will be the one that gives life to the new Nintendo console, we are inclined to think that it will be the x86 seeing that PS4 and Xbox One have opted for the same architecture but we cannot rule out that Nintendo opts for a solution based at ARM.
