Amd believes 2020 will be his best year with the Zen 3 cpus

The third generation of Zenzen based second generation Ryzen and EPYC processors have been a great success for AMD. Before the end of the year, AMD will have released its flagship Ryzen 9 3950X processor and third-generation Threadripper, cementing itself as a high-end computing power. However, AMD CEO Lisa Su says the best is yet to come next year.

AMD is very confident in its Zen 3 architecture and upcoming 7nm laptop chips

In an interview with Venture Beat , Lisa Su stated that 2020 will be an "even bigger product year" for AMD. In 2020 we will see “7nm laptop chips” and Zen 3 as successors to Zen 2 on the desktop. Additionally, AMD will power the next-gen consoles from Microsoft and Sony.

Zen 3-based processors will begin arriving in the middle of next year, powering the Ryzen 4000 series and third-generation EPYC. In addition, the jump to 7 nm of its laptop processors is expected. Intel is currently the king of the laptop market, but Ryzen 7nm laptop CPUs offer AMD the opportunity to change this market as well if they are powerful enough and offer a huge improvement in power consumption.

With Zen 2, AMD plans to advance the desktop, high-end desktop, server and laptop markets. Zen 2 is a turning point for AMD, and in 2020 the company plans to build on this success to expand Zen 2 to the portable market and offer Zen 3 to its customers later in the year.
