Amd: 41% of players use ryzen processors
Table of contents:
It is no secret that since the launch of the AMD Ryzen platform in 2017, the Red Team has been making solid strides in the desktop CPU market share. In fact, it has almost doubled the 17.5% it saw in the summer of 2016.
A survey reveals that PC gamers are choosing AMD
In a recent survey of PC gamers specifically, 41% were found to be using an AMD processor in their system. A figure that is approximately 7% higher than the current "general" market share. A number that includes "home" systems as well as specific game settings.
However, this survey contrasts with the latest Steam hardware figures, which show that Intel is increasing its market share. From the Steam figure, it should not be forgotten that laptops are also included, a medium in which Intel has comfortably dominated for years.
Although this is just a poll, it seems likely that unless Intel struggles in 2020, the year is still shaping up to be dominated by the releases of the Ryzen 4000. Particularly because the owners of the original first or second generation versions could now be ready for something newer and faster.

AMD's fortunes began to change after its Zen architecture arrived two years ago. The company's market share has increased every quarter since the second quarter of 2017, and its CPUs continue to dominate Amazon's list of best-selling processors in the U.S., ranking nine of the top ten. We also saw another survey in November that showed that 60 percent of Europeans preferred AMD's CPUs to Intel's, an increase of 50% over two years ago.
The year looks very positive for AMD in almost all its facets, it just remains to be seen if it is up to the task in the high-end GPU segment.
