Microsoft surface laptop 3 would use ryzen processors from amd

Microsoft recently invited the press to an event in New York City where they are expected to announce their new Surface Laptop 3 laptops. The new version of at least one of these products could be different from what many expected, according to WinFuture , which reported today that Microsoft plans to announce a new Surface laptop equipped with AMD processors instead of limiting itself to Intel chips.

Surface Laptop 3 would be presented in early October with AMD processors

So far, Microsoft has released two generations of Surface laptops: the first debuted in May 2017 and the second arrived in October 2018. Both with exclusive Intel processors.

Rumors about a Surface Laptop with AMD processors have been popping up for quite some time and it seems that these have been supported.

According to WinFuture , according to "a series of entries in the non-public databases of European retailers, " Microsoft plans to launch a Surface Laptop 3 with a 15-inch screen and an AMD CPU. What was found are three models of Surface laptops, but nothing was detailed about specific models.

This change could result in future Surface devices offering a mix of Intel and AMD processors. AMD certainly prepared enough APUs to serve Microsoft. Following the Picasso APU processors announced in January, the company is believed to be working on new Renoir APUs with Zen 2 cores as well as Dali APUs based on Raven Ridge. These APUs are supposed to cover the upper (Renoir) and lower (Dali) ends of the laptop and tablet market.
