AMD has announced a major reorganization of its management team, announcing new members and familiar faces in important new roles, as well as promotions that will expand certain functions to cover both retail and data center CPUs and GPUs.
Chennakeshu has previously worked for Ericsson Mobile, Sony Ericsson, and Freescale. During her stay at Freescale, current CEO Lisa Su was a member of the company's leadership team. Under his new role, Chennakeshu will manage the strategy, engineering, and business aspects of AMD's semi-personal and graphics devices.
More changes in the company board
Forrest Norrod, Senior Vice President and General Manager, AMD Data Center and Integrated Solutions Groups, will now take on a more important role within the company, gaining control of all of the company's data center products, both in the CPU and GPU segment.
Another important change is the role Mark Papermaster will now have, who has been promoted from Senior Vice President and CTO to Executive Vice President and CTO. This promotion recognizes the technological vision and execution of the Papermaster roadmap within the company.
Darren Grasby will also change his role from Senior Vice President of Global Computing and Graphic Sales to Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, covering a greater number of products. This is due to the sales success that Ryzen is having to a greater extent.
AMD hopes to have a very active 2019 year with new products on all fronts, the renewed generation Ryzen 3000, EPYC 2 processors for servers and the new Navi graphics cards in 7nm.
