Amd launches rx 580 with 2048 stream processors in china

It seems that the Polaris architecture still has something to say. It turns out that a curious RX 580 with 2048 SP (Stream Processors) has been released in China, this is an amount below the 'normal' model of the RX 580, in addition to other changes.

The XX_SP nomenclature in the Radeon series is usually a 'common' practice. These code names are often used in variants for limited markets, such as Chinese. It was recently discovered that AMD China lists the Radeon RX 580 graphics card with 2048 SP and 8GB of GDDR5 memory, using a 256-bit memory bus. Although there is another model that comes with 4 GB of memory.

The Radeon RX 580 "2048SP" seems to be closer to an RX 570 than the current RX 580. The graphics card features 150W of TDP and a 7Gbps memory clock, a common feature of Polaris 10/20 clipped.

The memory clock is cut from the original model, as are its 'boost' frequencies. In the 'normal' RX 580, the card has a memory speed of 8 Gbps, and the clock speed can reach 1340 MHz. Where there is more change is in the amount of Stream proccesors, which goes from 2304 units, to 2084 units in the 'RX 580 2048SP'.

It is highly unlikely that this graphics card will be marketed outside of China. Its price there is 1349 CNY, that is, about 168 euros approximately for the version with 4GB of memory.
