AMD is pleased to announce a new version of its graphics drivers, this time the Radeon Crimson 16.7.3 that seems to bring some improvements for the RX 480 graphics card.

Radeon Crimson 16.7.3 more performance and bug fixes

The new Radeon Crimson 16.7.3 controllers brings with it some performance improvements with the RX 480 graphics, such as a 10% increase in performance with the Rise of the Tomb Raider compared to previous controllers. Tested with an i7-5960X at 1080p, according to AMD it goes from 78.7 FPS to 86.5 FPS. AMD ensures that these new controllers continue to adjust performance and compatibility in Crossfire configurations, such as the problems with Overwatch that caused the exit to the desktop.

Radeon Crimson 16.7.3 with improvements for Crossfire

Among some of the problems that the Radeon Crimson 16.7.3 drivers fix we have the recent Hitman under the DirectX 12 API that caused corrupt graphics, this has been solved. Total War: Warhammer also solves its corrupted graphics problems specifically with the R9 380 graphics. Rise of the Tomb Raider itself also fixes " Flickering " issues under certain Crossfire setups.

Even though these new drivers fix a certain number of bugs, AMD still needs to work on fixing the graphics errors that persist in games under the RX 480 card.
