AMD has just released its new Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.12.1.1 Beta drivers for all users of its graphics cards based on the GCN architecture.

Some known issues that have been mentioned in the release notes are as follows:

Gaming experts are confused and rightly so, because this new version alters the name game for AMD. It is being rated as arguably the most oddly named version for Radeon Software this year. This new version is believed to be insignificant for most PC gamers.

However, this new version offers some clues about what is to come in the future. According to Overclock3D, it has been called Radeon Software 18.12.1.1 instead of 18.12.2 as the latter has been reserved for its next major release by the company. This conclusion seems to be the only possibility that encompasses why AMD has avoided the use of 18.12.2. It also shows that the next big AMD driver release could be just around the corner.

The Epic Games store was announced earlier this week and will give developers under its umbrella 88% of total revenue instead of the industry standard of 70%. A launch is expected during the Game Awards scheduled for December 6.
