My own and strangers were struck by the fact that AMD did not announce anything about a new series of Navi graphics cards during its presentation at CES 2020. The RX 5600 XT was present, but nothing about a hypothetical series above the RX 5700 XT.

AMD: "They should expect us to have a high-end Navi, and that it is important to have it"

During an interview with the folks at PCWorld, Dr. Lisa Su, AMD CEO, confirmed that there will be a high-end Navi GPU.

Gordon Ung, PC World: Do you think AMD needs to have a high-end competitor in the graphics card market?

Lisa Su: I know Reddit's want a high-end Navi! They should expect us to have a high-end Navi, and that it's important to have it. The discrete graphics market, especially in the high-end, is very important to us. So hopefully we have a high-end Navi, though I don't usually comment on unannounced products.

Presentation in June or July

Apparently, 'Big-Navi', as it is known, will be based on the RDNA2 architecture that would be more efficient than this first generation.

The big problem that AMD will face this year is that if Nvidia announces the RTX 30 series, it will surely improve the performance of Turing GPUs. AMD must have a really powerful product if it wants to compete, not only against the RTX 2080/2080 Ti, but also the new generation 'Ampere' that is to come.

No specific date was given, but they expect 'Big Navi' to show in June (on Computex) or July (one year after the RX 5700). It could be assumed that a RX 6000 series graphics card is expected at the time, but the latter is only speculation.
