Amd navi, a high-end model passes the raa certification

We have new news about upcoming high-end AMD graphics cards. An AMD GPU codenamed "ATI-102-D18802" has recently passed RRA certification. This device code refers to a very powerful variant of the Navi GPU (judging from the nomenclature).

Mysterious high-end Navi GPU passes RAA certification

RRA certification is something that all consumer ASICs have to pass in South Korea - just like in the United States. However, unlike the United States, RRA publishes its certifications in its public domain, which is great for us because it allows us to sniff out exciting new GPUs that are under development. The AMD ATI-102-D18802 GPU yesterday received its RRA certification, which means that AMD has not only finalized its plans for the next GPU, but has also presented it to the authorities (further design changes are no longer possible).

The tables of different AMD-ATI GPU architectures have been known as follows: Hawaii were named C6XXXX, those of Tonga C7XXXX, those of Fiji C8XXXX, those of Polaris C9XXXX, those of Vega D12XXX and those of Navi were named D18XXX.

• Hawaii XT was codenamed C67101.Tonga was codenamed C76501.Fiji XT was codenamed C88001.Polaris 11 was codenamed C91103.Vega 64 was codenamed D12201.Navi was codenamed D18205.

The pattern seems clear here. The first two digits represent generation, while the next three numbers represent relative performance metrics. The first Navi were identified with the last three digits 205, while the newly registered new code ends with the number 802, making it a higher-performance GPU.

Considering that it has just passed the certification, it is likely that we are seeing in the anteroom of the high-end models of the Navi architecture based on RDNA2 with support for Ray Tracing.

Finally, this certification does not mean that we will soon see these graphics cards in stores, it will take several months for this to occur after RAA certification. We will keep you informed.
