AMD is working on multiple issues with its 3rd generation Ryzen processors through a highly recommended update to its Chipset Driver software , AGESA ComboAM4 1.0.0.3.3ABB.

AGESA ComboAM4 1.0.0.3.3ABB will solve several of the most frequent problems with Ryzen 3000

For starters, several users noticed anomalous behavior with third-generation Ryzen chips, in which voltages and clock speeds were raised, as the processor misinterpreted low-scale performance requests from certain software as a request to unlock higher performance states.

These problems were reported with abnormally high idle voltages when performance is measured by some applications, such as CPU-Z. The new version 1.07.29 of AMD Chipset Drivers redefines the AMD Ryzen Balanced Windows power scheme to be more aware of low priority workloads and ensure the correct state when the system is idle. AMD recommends Ryzen Master Application Version 2.0.0.0.1233 (or later) as they have fixes in the hardware monitoring module.

The AMD Chipset Drivers 1.07.29 also includes a "beta" fix for the bug that made "Destiny 2" unplayable on third-generation Ryzen computers. The company had already attempted to fix this bug through an update to its AGESA processor microcode, via ComboAM4 1.0.0.0.3ABA, although that particular version, not to be confused with 1.0.0.0.3AB, was found with errors and unsubscribed. AMD said it is working on a new version of AGESA, ComboAM4 version 1.0.0.0.3ABB, which will include "a more complete solution" for the bug affecting "Destiny 2."

AGESA ComboAM4 1.0.0.0.3ABB will try to solve a problem reported by some users with M.2 PCI-Express installed on computers with third generation Ryzen processors. Some computers are experiencing a series of "Event 17" errors in Event Logger related to their boot disk.

AMD is currently testing and validating AGESA ComboAM4 1.0.0.0.3ABB and will ship it to motherboard manufacturers so they can release it in the coming weeks.
