AMD has announced its new AMD Radeon Pro SSG graphics card, marking the debut of Polaris architecture in the professional sector to deliver a new level of performance and energy efficiency.

AMD Radeon Pro SSG: technical characteristics and price

This new AMD Radeon Pro SSG graphics card is capable of accelerating the debugging of RAW video at 8K resolution to an impressive 96 FPS, which is an improvement of 17 FPS compared to the previous top-of-the-range professional card from AMD. Thanks to AMD's advanced Polaris architecture, the best compatibility with low-level DirectX 12 and Vulkan APIs is achieved for the best possible performance.

The AMD Radeon Pro SSG includes a large buffer in the form of flash memory that amounts to 1 or 2 TB, making it the graphics card with the largest amount of memory so far. Its great power makes it highly suitable for tasks such as high-resolution 8K video post-production, content creation for virtual reality, oil and gas exploration, or the field of medicine and science.

Before you get excited, this is not a video game-oriented card both for its characteristics and for its high price of 10, 000 euros.

For less affluent pockets the low-profile Radeon Pro WX 4100 for workstations, the Radeon Pro WX 5100 geared towards CAD and CAM engineering, and the Radeon Pro WX 7100 for engineering and multimedia entertainment including VR content creation.
