AMD is announcing the world's first professional 7nm workstation graphics card, the Radeon Pro W5700. As such, it is not intended to be played, although it does have the ability to do so. Most importantly, you have the ability to help develop them and work in other professional workloads.

What happens now with Radeon Instinct MI60 and MI50 cards? They both contained 7nm Vega 20 GPUs, but AMD makes a differentiation with its Radeon Pro W5700. The Radeon Pro is designed for professional workstations, while the Radeon Instinct is designed for servers and data centers, so this release would not be replacing the two graphics cards we mentioned at the beginning.

Radeon Pro W5700 is the first example of AMD's current generation of Navi GPUs and the Radeon DNA (RDNA) architecture that extends outside the realm of consumer video games.

This workstation model is basically a variant of the Radeon RX 5700. These are its main specifications:

Boost watches are slightly higher than those of the RX 5700 model, but with a lower base frequency, which is typical of professional GPUs. This translates to 8.89 TFLOPs for single precision performance (FP32) and 556 GFLOPs for double precision performance (FP64).

Both numbers fall slightly below the Radeon Pro WX 8200 (Vega), which offers up to 10.8 TFLOPs and 620 FP32 and FP64 performance GFLOPs, respectively.

According to AMD, the Navi-based Radeon Pro W5700 offers up to 25% more performance per clock and up to 41% more average performance per watt than the previous generation Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture.

This graphics card should be available starting today.
