There are only two days left for the NDA of the Radeon RX 480 to finish and we can see the first reviews and find the card in the main stores. A new leak shows the new gem of AMD running on Doom, one of the most popular games of the moment, in ultra quality and Full HD resolution.

Radeon RX 480 shows excellent performance in Doom

The Radeon RX 480 sees new data of its performance leaked with a video of Doom running at 1080p resolution and ultra quality, the card shows excellent performance with a performance close to 90-100 fps. Logically, the drivers are still very green, so there are drops in the frame rate per second, which will surely be greatly reduced in future driver revisions.

The AMD Radeon RX 480 makes use of a Polaris 10 Ellesmere GPU that is built at 14nm and offers a total of 2, 304 stream processors at a frequency in its 1, 266MHz reference model. Most striking is its low power consumption which allows it to work only with a 6-pin connector and with a TDP of 150W.

The card will arrive in two different versions with 4 GB and 8 GB of memory at prices that would be around 230 and 270 euros respectively, not bad for a card that promises to offer a performance very similar to the Radeon RX 390X and superior to the popular GeForce GTX 970 with Maxwell architecture at 28nm.
