AMD Radeon Technologies Group needs a profound change after the Vega architecture fiasco, this process of change began with the Raja Koduri march and now ends with the incorporation of Mike Rayfield and David Wang.

Almost 4 months have passed since Raja Koduri left the Radeon Technologies Group, something that only time will tell if it was a success or a mistake for AMD. Since then AMD's graphics card division has been under the command of Lisa Su. Now the company is reinforced with the addition of Mike Rayfield as senior vice president and general manager, and David Wang as senior vice president of engineering.

Lisa Su will continue to be the President and CEO as well as responsible for all aspects of Radeon Technologies Group business strategy and management. David Wang will be responsible for all the graphic engineering of the company while Mike Rayfield will contribute more than 30 years of experience focused on growth, building customer relationships and achieving results.

David Wang comes from Synaptics and previously worked for ATI, ArtX, SGI, Axil and LSI Logic with great success in all of them, in the case of Synaptics he managed to quadruple the design team through acquisitions and organic growth. As for Mike Rayfield, Micron comes, a company that achieved significant revenue growth and better profitability under his management.

Hopefully all of these changes mark the start of a much more fruitful stage for the Radeon Technologies Group as Nvidia has long dominated the graphics card market with an iron fist and the lack of competition is never good for consumers.
