During the announcement of the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition the existence of two different models was announced, one of them with a traditional air cooling system and the other with an AIO liquid cooling system that allows to better exploit the potential of silicon Vega 10.

AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition

The AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition water- cooled version mounts the same Vega 10 graphics core as the air version, this silicon consists of 4096 Stream Processors and 16GB of HBM2 memory. The only difference between both versions is the frequency at which the GPU works, in this version with liquid cooling it reaches 1, 630 MHz and the TDP rises to 375W compared to 300W in the air version.

This difference in power consumption leads to the need for a more powerful heatsink so that the GPU can maintain a near maximum operating frequency without getting into thermal throttling or overheating braking issues.

This version of the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition has gone on sale in the US for an approximate price of $ 1, 500.
