With the arrival of the new Intel Core X-Series and AMD Ryzen processors, competition in the high-end CPU market has become even more intense. When it comes to graphics cards, NVIDIA's GeForce GTX series is currently at the forefront of the industry, but gamers are already very eager to test the new generation of AMD Vega GPUs.

The prices of the new AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition cards come to light

So far there are not too many details about Vega, as the only thing we have seen so far are the details about the Frontier Edition cards, which are mainly aimed at handling workloads related to machine learning, 3D rendering and computing in the cloud.

Thus, AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition cards are not recommended for typical gamers, and this is good news considering the prices that have recently come to light.

Prices were posted on two websites, Scan UK and Saber PC, and it looks like the new Frontier Edition cards won't be too cheap. According to these portals, the air-cooled version will be priced at $ 1, 199, while the liquid-cooled model will fetch $ 1, 799. For this money, Vega Frontier cards promise a power of 13 TFlops, which represents 1 TFlop more than the NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan Xp.

In general, these cards will be used by organizations that are in charge of creating computational clusters and that require a lot of power for artificial applications, 3D rendering and other highly intensive tasks. AMD already provided some benchmarks during the unveiling of the new cards, where it noted that they provide up to 70% faster speed than the NVIDIA Titan Xp card in Solidworks, a 3D design application.

However, AMD ensures that its Vega GPUs for gamers will be even faster, although the company did not provide any additional details in this regard. These cards won't see the light of day for a few months, so AMD has plenty of time to refine GPUs and lower prices, if possible.

When the new Vega range arrives, NVIDIA will face the same pressure that Intel faced when the new AMD Ryzen processors arrived.
