Amd will downgrade the r9 290x
The new Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 and 980 graphics cards are about to arrive, they will be officially announced on September 19 and AMD is already preparing a warm welcome in the form of a price reduction for its Radeon R9 290X.
The reduction should be around 50 euros approximately, to make the card more competitive against the new GeForce based on the Maxwell GM204 core that boast great energy efficiency, remember that the GTX 980 with a TDP of 170W is expected with performance very similar to the GTX 780Ti which has a TDP of 250W.
Recall that AMD has already lowered the price of the R9 295X2 by approximately 33%, remaining at a price of approximately 999 euros.
